TRANSGENDER AWARENESS WEEK
SECOND WEEK IN NOVEMBER

Each year between November 13 – 19, is a day to stand with the Transgender community. Trans people, Allies and organisations around the country participate in Transgender Awareness Week to help raise the visibility of transgender people and address issues members of the community face. Raise a Trans flag in your town, start small or go big. Hosting an event such as a morning tea, or school assembly can build further awareness and overcome stereo types, anti-transgender hatred or prejudice and begin to foster a safer space for trans people to live.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we work and live, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this land and commit to building a brighter future together.

We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. We seek to walk together in the spirit of reconciliation.

This land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
