Celebrated for the first time in 2016, when Minus18 partnered with the Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives (ALGA) to create this nationwide campaign. To bring awareness, pay homage of LGBTIQ life, politics, culture and events throughout history and contemporary Australian society. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we work and live, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this land and commit to building a brighter future together.
We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. We seek to walk together in the spirit of reconciliation.
