The Wimmera Pride Project

The Wimmera Pride Project is a grass roots movement led by local residents to enrich the lives of LGBTI+ people and their allies within the community. The committee who meet regularly are filled with passionate leaders, working to create and advocate to create social change throughout the community. That same committee who meet regularly to plan and manage fun events; coordinating group activities such as Queer beers, online book club, Pride night, and so much more. you know what they say those that work, hard play hard.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we work and live, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this land and commit to building a brighter future together.

We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. We seek to walk together in the spirit of reconciliation.

This land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
