TRANS DAY OF REMEMBRANCE

The Transgender Day of Remembrance was set aside to memorialize those who were killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. as a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia. It is a day to draw attention to the continued violence endured by transgender people.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which we work and live, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this land and commit to building a brighter future together.
We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We acknowledge that sovereignty has never been ceded. We seek to walk together in the spirit of reconciliation.
This land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
